“ Great service and food with amazing flavours. Would definitely recommend. I made a reservation for lunch on the day, and it was not busy. The beef tartare was so flavourful, I am still dreaming about the buttery crumpets and the okonomiyake was delish. Finished with the miso chocolate bar and I was stuffed. They have some great cocktails and wines to accompany the food. ”
“ Delicious menu and the service was immaculate from the bartenders to the servers. Pandan black rabbit cocktail and the beef fillet are absolute highlights, but don't miss the kingfish or the pork skewers! Can be very noisy inside (acoustics) which we found ok for 2 of us on a Tuesday but might be more overwhelming on a weekend night or large table ”
“ We came here for the second time and it absolutely was like in our memory from two years ago: superb! Especially the crab - omg, I could take a bath in it. The only meal that’s apparently on the menu from day one. Another item that I could swim in: the earl gray - vanilla - citrus iced tea... hmmmm... I even got the recipe from the bartender and the local tea shop from where they get their tea. Kind service, too We‘ll be back for a third time ”
“ Exceptional, well thought out food with great flavour. The vibe inside of the restaurant was cool and relaxed. Gia, our server, was wonderful! Best meal in Edinburgh! ”
“ My wife and I returned to Noto for our second visit in the last few months with our two children and it was fabulous! We started out with some cocktails which were really great. We literally ordered the entire menu (13 dishes) to share and doubled up on the crab butter (a must), beef tartar, and trout temaki. Every dish was fabulous and the desserts were amazing! For the four of us, we were all satisfied at the end, with not too much or too little. Just right. Highly, highly recommended! ”
“ From start to finish you are treated with the most warm and welcoming care. The food is incredible. The crab and bread, kingfish and chocolate mousse I couldn’t recommend more - I wasn’t the biggest fan of the salad but probably just because I tend to prefer a less sweet palate. Tried the wine and ‘snake tree’ cocktail: both delicious. And the most important thing to note - great place to come for coeliacs and gluten intolerances as they have a whole separate menu and did not react to any cross contamination so know they take it seriously. If you’re visiting Edinburgh come visit and make sure you try the mousse! ”
“ Amazing food coming in small plates, good cocktails. The interior is simple yet fairly spacious compared to some other similar restaurants. The bread with whipped tofu for the starter was great - although I expected more from the bread (it was not as warm as I would prefer and also was a tiny bit stiff), the tofu made up for that. North Sea crab with sourdough was great - delicious comfort food. Again, I expected a bit more from the bread coming in the side but it still was good. The beef tartare had a pretty basic taste and the portion size was tiny (the muffins that came soaking in butter were definitely much larger than the tartare itself) - a bit underwhelming. Anster, mushroom and truffle croquettes were amazing! The truffle was very prominent and the filling of the croquettes was super tender. Okonomiyaki was a bit stiff in my opinion - it was still delicious but the same theme about the bread not being over the roof applies. Potato udon with wild mushrooms was a highlight! The flavour was super rich and balanced and this was the most complex flavour among all the dishes I tried that night. The chocolate miso bar dessert was nice and tasty but there was nothing special about it in my opinion. I would probably make it less sweet too. The cocktails were decent but I expected a bit more. The only highlight to me was the hundred acre cocktail. Just desserts and belle&sebastian were just good. The campfire old fashioned felt too classic even though they tried to make a twist. Overall, the flavours of the dishes were fairly straightforward most of the time but the implementation was great for most of them and it was delicious. Come to this place if you are not very much up for experimentation that night and are looking for the flavours that do work for most of the people and you won’t be disappointed ”
“ An amazing experience all around! The food was delicious, every bite was just delightful. I particularly really enjoyed the anster croquettes. Great service, big thanks to the team. Everyone was so helpful and showed great knowledge of the menu. Me and my wife sat at the bar, we ended up speaking to the bartender about a few things he made us feel very comfortable. My one request is, could you look to use authentic Japanese sake sets with the Tokkuri sake flask with the small sake cups. I personally think this looks better than a sake glass, and it's also the way it's meant to be served. ”
